Jeff specializes in developing learning environments, both in his coaching and in his training and facilitation work. Helping humans learn how to learn – to really think through tough problems – is the hallmark of his success and true to the agile mission.
He is an agile consultant, coach and trainer with considerable depth in information technology from a career spanning over 30 years. Beginning as a software engineer he’s had the honor of serving companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Oshkosh Defense, Experian Corporation, FIS Global, Oracle, The Northern Trust Company, Sogeti USA, Asea Brown Boveri, assorted startups and many more.
Jeff is a Scrum Alliance Certified Team Coach (CTC), an ICAgile Certified Expert in Agile Coaching (ICE-AC) and an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ICF-ACC).
Using the Agile Coaching Growth Wheel
First and foremost, Jeff uses the Agile Coaching Growth Wheel to keep track of his own journey as an agile coach and practitioner. He recommends the wheel as a self-assessment tool for all his clients, regardless of the size of the organization, the titles of the individuals, or the types of teams being coached. He also cautions that these assessments are intended for personal growth and not as a way to measure the value of individuals in an organization. Having said that, the results of an ACGW self-assessment can serve as the basis for a meaningful conversation when recruiters are interviewing hopefully serious agilists.
Agility and the language we use to describe it should be ubiquitous in agile organizations. When agilists use the Agile Coaching Growth Wheel to update their skill profile, it reminds them of that language while providing ideas on how to improve themselves, as desired.
